PEP — Parent Empowerment Program

Empowering Parents to Support Positive Behavior

The Parent Empowerment Program (P.E.P.) helps caregivers understand the powerful role they play in shaping their child’s behavior, confidence, and emotional growth. Through supportive discussion and practical strategies, parents learn how to navigate challenging behaviors and build stronger, more positive routines at home.

Who P.E.P. Helps:

P.E.P. is offered to families of children referred through Early Intervention (EI) or CPSE who may be experiencing:

  • Challenging or disruptive behaviors

  • Difficulty responding to discipline strategies

  • Struggles with routines, cooperation, or transitions

  • Frustration with managing toddler or preschool behaviors

The program meets families without judgment and focuses on building skills and support.

What to Expect

P.E.P. typically includes six one-hour sessions, during which parents will:

  • Discuss their child’s behaviors and frustrations

  • Learn positive, effective behavior-guidance strategies

  • Develop and practice consistent approaches

  • Create plans to support calmer routines and better cooperation

  • Monitor progress and adjust techniques as needed

Follow-up sessions are available for families needing additional support.

Strengthening Long-Term Success

P.E.P. helps parents build confidence, consistency, and connection with their child. Caregivers also receive guidance on long-term supports and community resources to sustain progress over time.
